Amanda thrives on achieving the goals she sets for herself. “Meeting and exceeding targets is the most satisfying feeling to me.”
 
In her career as a project manager at Kinectrics, Amanda ensures projects are completed on time and on schedule by effectively and efficiently managing resources. Her most rewarding career experience was working as the Commercial Grade Dedication Service Line Leader, which was a position that helped her to develop in a technical role and leadership role, in order to become a strong Project Manager in the industry today.
 
Amanda’s career journey was influenced by her high school co-op supervisor. “He set me on the right path, and I’m still following it.” Prior to beginning her career in the nuclear industry, Amanda completed a Bachelor of Applied Science – Mechanical Engineering Degree. She then went on to earn her MBA and her CPA-CMA (Chartered Professional Accountant - Certified Management Accountant) designation through part-time study while working full time in the nuclear industry.
 
Amanda’s desire to meet other successful women in nuclear inspired her to join the WiN-Golden Horseshoe West chapter. “My department was entirely comprised of men, so it was great to have an opportunity to learn from women in similar situations.”
 
She appreciates the opportunity to meet such accomplished and intelligent women and to be part of an organization that provides a supportive networking and learning environment. “I always feel inspired by WiN conferences.”
 
Amanda’s involvement with WiN has also increased her knowledge about the nuclear industry and what potential career opportunities are available.
 
Asked what motivational advice she would provide young people, Amanda replies, “Never have regrets. Always look for the positive in a bad situation to move forward.”
 
In her personal time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her two young children and playing golf.
