 Regina Atsaves currently works at Ontario Power Generation where she is employed as a First Line Manager in the Security Clearances Department. As well as managing a staff of 7, Regina is in charge of reviewing and analyzing clearance results, education and employment verifications. Additionally, she is in charge of performing criminal record name checks, loyalty/indices checks (through the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS)), employment and education checks, credit checks and MTO checks.

Thus far, her most rewarding project has been successfully processing thousands of clearances for the 2009 Darlington Vacuum Building Outage (VBO) and the 2010 Pickering VBO.

Regina attended York University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Regina’s former supervisor was the most influential person in regards to her career in nuclear. She says working in the industry gives her a sense of fulfillment. In terms of Regina’s advice to today’s youth, she says, “Stay true to yourself. Always maintain your integrity.”

Inspired by her supervisor, Regina joined WiN. She is a new member, having just joined this past year. In her spare time, Regina enjoys hiking, biking and travelling.
